I am acutely aware of how much stuff I use, even more so of how much stuff my family uses. I’m also aware of the implication of extrapolating that out to entire populations. It is for this reason that I am so entranced by forgotten objects; possessions that have been left to dereliction and discarded. Things that we once used readily, that have now been left to nature.
The inspiration for collating these photographs came from some words Jim Hardcastle wrote about drystone walls on The Mendip Hills. There is a juxtaposition between our ever-changing and transient lifestyles compared to the unchanging possessions that we abandon and leave to nature.
